Community Involvement

Sistership members spread our message of hope, strength, and wellness  through paddling and cultivating a presence in our community.

“Let’s Raise” Campaign 2019

Sistership has a long-standing relationship with the YMCA. They have kindly provided space for pre-season dryland and pool training sessions in  their facilities. In addition, the YMCA generously donates full -year  memberships to Sistership paddlers.

In appreciation, Sistership participates in:

The “Let’s Raise” Campaign

Each year Sistership runs a fundraising drive in conjunction with the YMCA  “Lets Raise” campaign. Sistership  matches paddlers’  monetary donations. The YMCA uses  these donations for its various programs and services, including financial assistance to assist individuals who would otherwise not have access to those programs and services.

Sistership Information Booth 2019
CIBC Run for the Cure

Sistership supports this event by registering a team to raise funds. We also host a booth to promote wellness and community through paddling for breast cancer survivors.

Wellspring Day 2023

2022 marked the start of what Sistership hopes to be a long and memorable experience with Wellspring Calgary.

Wellspring Alberta is a registered charity offering free programs and services that meet the emotional, social and practical needs of people living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers and kids.

Sistership comes together with the Wellspring young adults’ community for an afternoon of kinship and paddling.

Wellspring helps to heal the mind, heart and spirit.
