Your Sisterhood Is Waiting

You don’t need to be an athlete. You don’t need to have paddled before. You just need to show up. Sistership Calgary welcomes breast cancer survivors of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels into a sisterhood built on the water — where every stroke is shared, every voice is heard, and every paddler is part of something bigger than herself. Whether you’re looking for a new sport, a new community, or a place to heal, grow and set new goals, there’s a seat in our boat with your name on it. Come try a paddle. We’ll take care of the rest.

To prepare for the high-intensity aerobic activity of dragon boating, it is necessary for new crew members to:

  • be out of active treatment or surgery for a minimum of three months
  • obtain written approval from a physician
  • be committed to maintaining a sports-specific training and paddling program
  • be able to swim 50m in a personal floatation device (PFD)
  • be actively involved in the committee work required to run the organization
  • pay an annual registration fee
  • complete annual safety skills clinics and checks

Additionally, participation in the Calgary Dragon Boat Festival is strongly encouraged.
